Hi, I’m Marcus

I’m a Machine Learning Engineer living in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. I’m also a bassist, soccer player, coder and an advocate for renewable energy!

I have a Bachelor of Science majoring in Electrical Systems, and a Master of Engineering majoring in Mechatronics, both from The University of Melbourne. Through taking software and AI/robotics subjects at university, I took a shine to software engineering and AI, and have been drawn to these disciplines ever since.

I have worked for a large automative manufacturer, small health-tech startup and am currently working at a medium size power distribution/transmition company.

I have extensive experience developing AI, IOT, microservice, Big Data, web and mobile applications.

For AI applications, I love using Python, Jupyter Notebooks, TensorFlow and Keras. Although, I’m very interested in the prospects of PyTorch and PyTorch Lightning.

For console and web applications, I love using .NET and ASP.NET Core. There’s just so many things out-of-the-box that I don’t have to worry about, whilst also being super performant, well architected and flexible.

I think Azure and AWS are very similar and I’m comfortable using both.
